About Macros.Cheap

Optimize nutrition on a budget

About This App

Macros.Cheap compares grocery prices and macronutrient data to find lower-cost product combinations within user-selected targets. Product nutrition profiles use data from Open Food Facts, while retailer listings provide product and price context. Prices, availability, packaging, and nutrition labels can change, so verify the current retailer listing and package before purchasing.

Product feedback can be sent to centipede5dev@gmail.com!

What Are Macros?

“Macros” commonly refers to protein, carbohydrates, and fat. This app treats those values, calories, and price as planning inputs; it does not determine which targets are appropriate for an individual. It also does not account for every micronutrient, allergen, medical condition, dietary need, or preparation method.

The target helper explains how to enter ranges you have chosen independently; it does not calculate, estimate, or recommend nutrition targets. Consult a qualified professional for guidance about individual health or dietary needs.

Current Status

Macros.Cheap is in active development. The current optimizer catalog includes a limited set of products from Aldi, Trader Joe's, Walmart, and McDonald's. Product, price, and nutrition coverage may change as records are reviewed.
Product suggestions can be submitted through the request form. A request is not a guarantee that a product will be added.

Future Plans

  • Expand to more grocery stores and products
  • Add location-based pricing
  • Satiety estimation and volume eating support
  • Meal planning and recipe optimization
